May The 4th Be With You

Free hand has never been a strong suit for me but I don't seem to have any Star Wars stamps. So I freehanded for Star Wars Day. I want to get this post up in time but I'm don't have time right now to describe it. I'll update it with polishes used later this week. Sorry for the short post!

Supernatural Stamping

Welcome to my new obsession! I've always liked the TV show Supernatural, but these last few months my interest has exploded into obsession. So when cruising my nail art group on Facebook someone mentioning a Supernatural stamping plate caught my undivided attention. Sure enough, Apipla made a small plate (I mean really small. Like 2 inch by 2 inch) dedicated to Supernatural. I may have squee'd a bit when it showed up. Super excited I slapped this mani together real fast. A bad french tip white by Color Workshop I had lying around made the base. I used two coats, but maybe I could have used a third because you can still see some streaking in it. I stamped with Wet 'n Wild "Black Creme" and added a little splattering with Essie "5th Avenue." Sorry for the dry cuticles, work has been rough on my hands these last few weeks.

On the plate you have the Enochian angel banishing sigil, 2 pairs of wings, Bobby's face, the Impala, the front of Castiel's trench coat, Ruby's knife, the anti-possession tattoo, a gun, what I assume is Dean's face but it's not too clear, and the words I <3 SAM!, I <3 CAS!, I <3 DEAN!, I lost my shoe., and I'm Hunter!. I think the I'm Hunter! is a typo and it should read I'm A Hunter!. I think if I ever use it I'll grab the A in the middle of Sam's name to add to it.

I'm loving this manicure. Supernatural is new tomorrow night with the return of my favorite character Charlie! Perfect nails for the occasion.

Ali's Wedding Nails

My co-worker got married this past weekend and asked me to do her nails for her. I'm not a professional so I was super flattered to be asked. We brainstormed several different things for what she liked and she surfed Pintrest for art ideas before she settled on this simple black tip with a gold heart accent. The base color is Finger Paints Endless Wear "Nude Sketch" that matched her dress nearly perfectly and the tips were done with Wet n Wild "Black Creme" and a striping brush. The gold heart was done in Maybelline "Bold Gold" and a dotting tool. Simple and elegant.

Congratulations Ali!

Simple Lilac Purple with Glitter

This is actually a lilac purple, not a cornflower blue, but I just can't get purples to photograph right. I have no idea why. I got a new Finger Paints Endless Wear polish called "Hue Knew?". It's supposed to be a non-uv/led gel polish. I'm not very familiar with gel polishes, but I'm trying it out to see how it differs from regular polish. So far the only real difference is its thicker and a little gloopy. Wear time seems about the same as my regular polish. It still chips, but maybe not as bad as regular polish? I'm not sure. I wish I had some experience with gel to compare it to. I added a couple coats of OPI "In True Stefani Fashion" on middle and ring just for fun.

Valentine's Day Swirls

Yeah, So an unplanned hiatus happened. It's not really over actually. My net is very limited at the moment, so yeah. Sucks.

But in happier news I won a Give-Away! I've never won one before and am super giddy. The chances of me winning were so slim too. I only got one entry in it because I found out about it so late. I'm without internet and just happened to see it on the last couple days it was active. I didn't have time to do a challenge mani for it, so I only got the one "click here for a free entry" click. After winners were picked they only had 24 hours to email and claim their prizes. About 4 or 5 days after it was over I happened to be at the mall and had an email from the sponsors. I figured no way I was still in the 24 hour period, that maybe the email was old and I got passed over. But no! The first few people didn't respond and I got chosen at the time I happened to be at a wifi spot. Seriously, it was like it was meant to be!

Anyway, back to these nails. I painted them China Glaze "White on White" and then with some foil glue. I had this idea that since the glue dried tacky I could brush loose glitter over it and have it stick. There were... complications. The tiny tub of glitter was stuck shut and as I was prying it open... well... it popped. Like a little glitter volcano all over my bed. (its cold outside so I sit in my bed and paint my nails instead of doing it on the porch like normal in the summer.) So I got glitter on my nail like a planned, but I also got lint and cat hair too. Soldiering on, I stamped with OPI "Time and A-Gwen" and Fab Ur Nails FUN 3 stamping plate, both of which were part of my give-away gift. Despite the cat hair-glitter fiasco, I really like how this turned out.

So I don't know when I'll get a chance to post again. I'll try to at least get pics up, if not text. I'm still here and still painting, but access to net is ugly right now.
