31 Day Challenge: Day Twenty-Five ~ Inspired by Fashion
I have never done a fashion manicure before even though they are rather popular in the nail art world. I had no idea where to even find the dress to mimic. So I went to my ever trusty Google Image search. I just typed in "Red Carpet Dresses" and this neat gown popped up.
Apparently she is Kelly Rowland at the 2013 Grammy Awards in a Georges Chakra Couture gown. I really don't know much about any of that, but that is what it said on Google. I'm not sure I really captured the dress all that well, but it was the first time I have ever done this. I freehanded a simple french tip on all my nails but for the accent using Color Workshop french pink and white. I taped off the stripes with striping tape on my accent then used Orly "Liquid Vinyl" over the tape. Peel it off and you have the open mesh areas of the dress. Again I'm not sure I used enough tape to get the idea across, but I like it. Simple and elegant.

31 Day Challenge: Day Sixteen ~ Tribal Print
The word "Tribal" to me makes me think of hand woven blankets and colorful baskets. I think of earthy tones like golden yellow and turkey red. BundleMonster BM221 (and it's matching tip BM219) make me think of those patterns. I used Sinful Colors "Let's Meet" and Wet n Wild "Black Creme". I've been using this challenge as an opportunity to do things I never have, or have avoided in the past. Nail Tip stamping plates I don't usually care for because I can't get the silly things to line up the way I like. Well I forced myself to do them this time, and you know what? I kinda like the way they turned out. Not exactly as straight as I like, but better than I've been able to do before. I like it :)

4th of July's Simple Stamping
A very simple stamping. The red is Bath and Body Works "Candy Apple Cream" with Sally Hansen "White On" undies. The blue is Wet n Wild "Saved by the Blue" and the stamped images are Milani "White on the Spot" using BundleMonster BM319 for the stripes and BM220 for the stars. I think if I do this again I'll do the pinky and ring in the blue and middle, index and thumb in red. It just looks backwards to me right now.

Facebook Nails
| Everyone's favorite social media site :) |
Here's another old mani of mine from last year. I did this around Valentine's Day. Painted my nails white and drew some hearts on it with a toothpick, but they turned out so badly I painted right over the top of them. Not bad, but like my old manicures I didn't take the time for cleanup or decent pictures. And the hearts show thru the blue if you look close enough. Sally Hansen "Blue It", "Blue Me Away", and "White On".

Doctor Who Nails
So yesterday may have been Easter, but it was also the return of Doctor Who! I don't have BBC America so I have to wait for iTunes to get it. Should be any hour now *refreshes page...again* Well, while I pace waiting for it to download, here is a manicure I did for a Sunday Challenge a few weeks ago for my stamping group. That week's challenge was "Nerdy Nails". I couldn't resist. It's a stamping group so it had to include stamping. On the index, middle and pinky, I painted my nails black (Wet n Wild's "Ebony Hates Chris") and sponged on some galaxies using Hot Topic's Morbid brand purple, Wet n Wild's "Teal or No Teal", and Sally Hansen's "Lightening". I stamped the tips with BundleMonster.com's BM 220 in Claire's white stamping polish. The ring finger is painted white (Sally Hansen's "White On") stamped on a blue bow-tie cause bow-ties are cool in Orly's "Blue Collar" with Claire's plate (they don't number their plates yet). A pair of stripes in China Glaze's "Hey Sailor" creates suspenders and 3 dots of "Ebony Hates Chris" for buttons down the front gives you the Eleventh Doctor's outfit.
And my thumb I covered before when I was practicing. Paint the finger white, do a gradient with Wet n Wild's "Saved by the Blue" and outline over the top in black. I used my Tenth Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver as a prop just because it makes me giggle.
*refreshes iTunes again*

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
![]() |
| Not my work! This is the mani I tried to do. My mani is the pictures below. Check out MadamLuck's blog here. |
A friend of mine posted this picture to my facebook page and I LOVED it. So I decided for St. Patrick's Day I'd give it a shot. I watched madamluck's YouTube video and was happy to learn I had nearly all the same polishes she did. So I tried it out on my practice finger. I love that silly thing.
I actually turned out rather well. I was proud of it, so it was time to do it on my actual fingers.
Well, it not that bad, but not exactally what I was planning. My stripes are all kinds of wonky. Well here is the steps I did for it. 2 coats of Duri "Rejuvacote" Nail Growth System (I used this instead of base coat this time because my base is kind of a milky color and I didn't want that to show in the french tipped fingers), Wet n Wild's "SaGreena the Teenage Witch" and Sinful Colors "Call You Later". The stripes were made with Stripe Rite's white, Sally Hansen's "Green with Envy" and Sinful Colors "Hazard". Topped with Seche Vite.

Shrooms!
I really liked this mani. Very simple Mario mushroom done for another game night. I think this was the first time I painted my nails for game night. Got to my sister's place early so we both did nerdy nails. Of course at the game none of the guys noticed, but afterwards at Barnes & Noble the cashier girl noticed and loved them. Sally Hansen "White On" for the white tip and Bath & Body Works "Candy Apple" for the red. We used the handle of a paint brush for the dots. Just a little bit of Wet n Wild "Ebony Hates Chris" for the eyes. I still really like this one. Maybe I'll do it again but in green for the 1UP mushroom.

Angry Birds
Here is my sister's nails again. I like to paint our nails for game night. Who am I kidding, any reason is good to paint nails! o.~ Anyway, game night is a good reason to do game related nails so here is our friends from the addictive game Angry Birds. The polish is again mostly from her stash, so I'm not sure of brands. I just remember the green we found for the pig was so sheer it was a pain in the neck to get opaque enough so show up. She was reading a good book and didn't want to put it down for photos.

French Mistletoe-Holiday Manicure 2012 #3
Yeah, I tried. A post a day isn't gonna happen. But here is what I'm wearing right now! I broke a couple nails at work so I'm sporting nubbins right now. A simple French tip with a glittery gold line. Accent nails have red berries and green leaves drawn with a dotting tool. I'm out of topcoat (asked Santa for it) so they arn't gonna last much longer. I can see it chipping now.
