Mani x Me

I did it. I finally got a subscription to the Maniology Mani x Me boxes. Curious, is it Mani and Me? Or is it Mani by Me? Both ways work. Sorry, I'm getting sidetracked. I'm excited to show you January's box even though it's almost time for February. I'd apologize but by now you guys know I'm just not a fast blogger lol! I have to admit, I took these photos after I already opened the boxes. I was excited.

And the very first time you order a subscription box they send you a mini scraper and a rectangular stamper. Every thing came well packed. This month's theme was Art Nouveau.

There are 2 subscription boxes available from Maniology. The first comes with 2 plates, 2 polishes, and something extra, this time it was some stickers. There is a cheaper option, however, that is exactly the same it just doesn't come with the polishes. Let's take a closer look inside after the jump:

Easter Egg Nails

Well you all saw a few days ago the Skittle Mani I did. Well, when I did it my mom wasn't all that impressed. She thought having all your nails a different color looked almost childish. I don't blame her (much) alot of people don't care for skittles. When I told her how many compliments I kept getting, she didn't quite believe me. Until we went to lunch one day and the waitress complemented my nails, then the bagger at the grocery store, and then the cashier at the bank. I think she was impressed then :) She asked me to do her nails for work, but instead of leaving them plain like I did, she wanted Easter Eggs. So this is what I came up with. This is the same Sinful Colors as my skittle mani, but I also used Stripe Rite's White, and L.A. Colors Art Deco's pink, blue and purple. I don't think they have specific names, just white, pink, blue and purple ones.

Have a good Easter and Spring Celebrations!

Nail Polish Thinner

I like dollar store polish. I can get nearly every color in the rainbow for dirt cheap, but you take a chance with it. A lot of cheap polish I come across is cheap for a reason. It bleeds, stains, is super thin, or more commonly thick. For thick polishes there is an easy fix. Nail Polish Thinner is just a few bucks at your local beauty supply store and can restore polish that is nearly dried out. In fact I had a dried up bottle and a hefty squirt brought it back to life. I shook it up and left it for a few days and boom! It was polish again. Now even though it fixed dried up polish, I don't recommend it for that, as the once-dry polish is greasy. What you want to use thinner for is polishes that are getting gloppy like my Art Deco silver glitter striper was getting. I once heard someone using water to thin polish but I just can't see how that would work, because water and polish literally don't mix. That's the whole theory behind water marbling. Under NO circumstances should you add Nail Polish Remover or Acetone to thin your polish. Remover and Acetone are made to break down and destroy chemicals in polish, so adding it to your bottles will destroy what makes polish, polish.
